The enrollment at Texas State has risen to over 30,000 students. The increased population has brought an increase in diversity within the Texas State community. With many students from all parts of Texas and still more from other states and even other countries, there are more influences than ever on life as a Bobcat. The University has several new degree offerings and countless new organizations, meaning change and innovation run rampant throughout the campus and San Marcos community.
Music is an area which diversity and innovation will greatly influence. A location 30 minutes away from the "live music capital of the world" and a student population of all kinds of students with all kinds of talents breeds a campus rich in musical taste. From the Cheatham Street Warehouse to Sixth Street and everywhere in between Bobcat students can be found expressing their musical skills and interests.
